I WON an iPad2+SmartCase!!!

I can't believe it! My photo won first place!!!! 


I am overhwhelmed, and SO grateful for the win! I cant wait to start using my new iPad2. Whoo-Hoo!!! The contest was put on by my website host: bludoman.com and the rules were to take 4 people to McDonalds. Line them up. First person needs to be holding a bouqet of flowers. Second person needs to be wearing a sash made out of $1 bills. The third person needs to be holding an ice cream cone with a gum ball on top. The fourth person needed to have Skittles sprinkled around their feet and be holding two Red Bulls. The McDonalds sign had to be in the photo somewhere. Now, living in Minnesota, the weather is so crappy right now! Remember my post on a Cloud Library? Well, here is where it DEFINITELY came in handy! Here is the original pic (shot with flash on manual setting with a 28-135mm lens):

I told Brady (the guy in the sash) to just look at me like he was annoyed, and I told everyone else to go over the top excited. ( I had just bought everyone lunch at McDonalds so they were all on a 'fast food high' I think. They were good little actors! I also knew that with the detail that Blu had given, that they would be looking specifically for that detail. Believe it or not, the gum ball on top of the ice cream cone is one of those GIANT gum balls, and the Skittles around Jim's feet are an entire 42 ounce bag, sprinkled around. I asked them to all wear black shirts, cause I figured that may be the only thing that shows I put a bit of thought into the photo. Ha. Anyway, back to the cloud library. Here is the replaced sky, as well as getting rid of some of the other background elements that would have taken away from the subjects:


There were 4 categories to enter in. This was the first one. I also submitted one in another category. These were the rules: Take a photo of a girl in a Spring, 2011 dress and Spring 2011 rain, cowboy or fashion boots. She must have red lips!


Again, I replaced the sky, got rid of cars and street that was on the right side, added some fun trees, stole a splash from a previous pic and bada-bing-bada bang. I honestly thought, if I won, this would be the photo they'd love.





If you arent familiar with the ins and outs of photoshop, what are you waiting for! It goes hand and hand with photography. So get on it.
