Day 1 in Louisville, KY

I landed here in Louisville! The Hardman’s are an amazing family who started The Ave church (www.avechurch.com) here. I met the staff (6 total) and got to know them a little bit. What an amazing group of people! I’m excited to invest my time in this church and I’m praying I can really be effective here. One thing I noticed right away that is hugely different from working in a large church: The church and staff really get down and dirty in ministry. Tomorrow we are going to hand out literature for the church to the students at the U Of L. Yesterday some of the staff helped random students move in and told them about the Ave.
Ben mentioned something to me that was really profound today, about relational evangelism. He said,
“The Gospel, when truly lived out, is irresistable”. Man. Isn’t that true? You can yap in someone’s face all day long, and it can go in one ear and out the other. But let them see your life, and the way you live, and it will change them. Good words.
So I went to Starbucks to do some work today. Within 30 minutes made a great friend. This is Maxwell:
He just happens to be a graphic designer and aspiring video editor. We have decided to meet once a week at that Starbucks so I can give him some video training. He’s absolutely hilarious. Cant wait to get to know him more.
Projects havent really been assigned quite yet, but I assume by the next time I blog, next week, there will be a few things on my plate.
I’m SO excited to be here and excited to see how God uses me at the Ave. I’m already in love with Louisville. Yee-Haw!
